8 — Whole cloves

2 — Star anise

7 — Black peppercorns

2 — Cinnamon sticks

3 slices of — Fresh ginger

Specifications

Add cardamom pods, whole cloves, star anise, black peppercorns and cinnamon sticks in a pan on medium heat. Toast the spices until fragrant for approximately 3 minutes. Make sure to shake the pan occasionally. In the meantime, add water and almond milk into a small pot with ginger and black tea. Simmer under low-medium heat. Once the spices are lightly toasted, add them into the tea pot and continue to simmer for approximately 5 minutes. Remove the tea from the heat and let it sit. Cover and steep for approximately 10 minutes. The more you steep the tea, the more flavourful it will be! Stir in your choice of sweetener while the tea is still warm. Taste and adjust sweetness depending on your taste preference. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher or teapot.
