Suggestions
It is important to start with high-quality ingredients in order to find success in this recipe. This is because there are minimal ingredients and their quality can vary quite drastically.
Specifications
To a mixing bowl add sifted cacao powder, melted coconut oil, almond butter, raw honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Thoroughly mix with a spoon to get a thick consistency. Depending on the quality and consistency of the ingredients, you may need to tinker with the proportions of ingredients to get the right texture (you’re aiming for a fudge-like paste with some stickiness to it). Add the dough to a piece of parchment paper. At this point, you can add any desired toppings (hazelnuts, almonds) into the chocolate bar. Once any (if any) toppings have been added, enclose the bar with the parchment paper and use your hands to even out the chocolate. Savour the chocolate bar as is (fudgy style) or relocate the bar into the freezer to firm up for approximately 30 minutes to an hour (we prefer ours chilled in the freezer). To serve, cut the bar into squares. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
